Alles, und das heifit restlos alles, was sich auf
diesem Tontrager befindet, hat ausnahmslos
Alexander Kaschte verbrochen [Published BT^. By
Copyright Control). Das gilt fur das Komponieren
der Lieder, das Schreiben der Texte und das
Einspielen der Instrumente. Ledig-/lich die
Saxophone und die Klarinetten wurden von Daniel
Schroder durchgehupt; und den Text von "Cafe Koma"
hat Rig ein wenig nach *semen Bediirfnissen
zurechtgestutzt. Aufgenommen, produziert und
gemixt wurde "Tineoidea" in der Zeit vom
31.10.2002 - 27.06.2003 im Studio[K]Mobile,
stationiert in einem Bundesland, das von Anfang an
versucht hat, den Produzenten, der naturlich auch
Alexander Kaschte heifit, wie einen Gewollknaul
auszukotzen. Das Mastering durften sich Calyx aus
Berlin antun. Teile der Gesangsaufnahmen fanden in
den hauseigenen Studios der beteiligten Kiinstler
statt. Ach ja: "Tineoidea" entstand im
Isolationstrakt Sachsenring in 35039 Marburg,
Ernst-Reuter Str. 5-7, Zelle 47, August 2002. Das
war die absolute Holle. Das Eremitenfoto stammt
von Thorsten Richter (topsyturvies ©yahoo.com).
Exzesse lieferte Fred Vidal. Alexander Kaschte

Он считает свою музыку манифестом бытия в этом мире, борьбой против эмоционального увечья. "Есть только один повод для создания музыки - внутренний мир!" - убеждает Алекс. Все тексты написаны на немецком. Слушайте третий альбом и... мороз по коже - вот что вас ждёт. Это совсем не удивительно, так как здесь идёт речь об одиночестве, изоляции, замкнутости. Песни не стали короче, доходчивей, они стали чем - то новым. Чем-то новым о чём то старом - нигилизм, пессимизм и аура вечного разочапрования окружают всё на альбоме Utopia - от обложки, выполненной в графическом ключе, до названия песен. Не говоря уже о музыке - несмотря на присутствие здесь даже, казалось бы, бодрых элементов gothic metal (кроме традиционных industrial и electro), ничего не спасёт вас от культивируемой Samsas Traum тотальной маниакальной депрессии. Если попытаться сравнить с чем либо их музыку - то это гибрид их ранних работ с инновациями в духе Pain и L`ame Immortelle. Один из критиков написал: "Попробуйте послушать "Utopia" в темноте. Если после первых двух треков вы не захотите включить свет, то вы сильный человек." Диск записан в студии Nachtschicht (Sopor Aeternus, Finisterra), в микшировании принял участие Tobias Hahn (L`ame Immortelle). + 2 bonus

Samsas Traum -Utopia

I've been listening to Utopia for nearly a month now, and I figure it's about time I get my arse in line to give it a proper review. The simple reason
behind my delay on the project was that this album proved to create more images in my head than any other recording has, and I have had a difficulty in properly trying to form some semblance of a review for it. Simply I will have to go beyond reviewing this album, and describe the images that come to mind as I have listened to it. I find myself being drawn into a dark castle, something very old, while hundreds of flashes rip through my mind: dead faces, burning eyes, ghouls and all sorts of horrors unspoken. My heartbeat quickens as I find myself projected through a series of a thousands of flashes until it becomes to much for me. Everything goes grey. From the cracked walls, and the blur greyness, memories are pulled from my mind as the soft music descends into my head. An odd manga comes to mind when I listen the to this album, I continuously find myself returning to Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon in the memories that the album drives from me. This manga had a serious impact on my writing and the development of my artistic abilities. Utopia represents, on the most part, an excellent soundtrack to
the manga. Those who've had the opportunity to read through the pages of Takeuchi Naoko's most popular series will certainly be able to draw elements of Alexander Kaschtes most recent work. For the large majority of people reading my site, you may have not ever had the opportunity to explore Takeuchi Naoko's universe. The images created on this album are those of beautiful nightmares. In the Sailor Moon universe,
there was a time of great joy although Neo Queen Serenity was obviously aware of the impending war that would destroy everything. In much of the same way, Utopia is the end of the first part of Samsas Traum neo-life. Whatever happens beyond this point will be apart of another world, time. As, in the Sailor Moon universe, the character Tsukino Usagi developed from an awkward, fourteen-year old girl, into the Neo Queen Serenity; Alexander Kaschte and Samsas Traum have developed their sound and their intensity from the major indie debut Die Liebe Gottes, into what we find on Utopia. Utopia is a wonderful album that not only speaks of Alexander Kaschtes ability to create beautiful music, but to gather a strong group along with him in his growth. It was great being to hear more from Lydia [Budnick] on this album, and her voice rings beautifully on Scherenschnitt - alone or in duet with Alexander, who's voice is completely spellbinding. Utopia is addictive and a must have album for anyone who hungers for powerful romantic art.

SAMSAS TRAUM - Utopia CD
Nihilism and pessimism seem to follow SAMSAS TRAUM like a morose deathbag every album whilst musically different comes shrouded in an Aura of disenchantment and bleakness fuelled by bile and loathing from the cover artwork to the song titles. SAMSAS TRAUM now have added another element to their gothic metal music that seems to be completely paradox: industrial & electro. SAMSAS TRAUM have always gone out of their way to experiment with new sounds and the immense wall of sound created on "Utopia" is enough to show that when it comes to innovation the band are still some way ahead of the competition. If this new album is comparable to other releases, you can say it is a hybrid of electro-metalheads PAIN, electro-maniacs L'Ame Immortelle and the well-known gothic metal/black metal sound of SAMSAS TRAUM. Try listening to "Utopia" in the dark. If you make it through the first two songs of its chaotic dementia without running for the lights, you're a strong person. "Utopia" proves that SAMSAS TRAUM still know how to crawl into your brain and raise the hairs on your neck - whether the lights are on or not.
